About us

We are Charles and Mariana Munn, two professional wildlife biologists and National Geographic cover-story authors with more than a half-century of combined field experience in many parts of  South America, mostly Brazil, Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and Chile.    Our field work experience in Pantanal started in 1987.   BBC-TV, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and many other networks have all broadcast our work in international nature documentaries.

By 2000, after decades of wildlife research in the Amazon, we used to be smug about our 30 Jaguar sightings, all in Peru.  Now our JRC guests see Jaguars more than 45 times per month!   In 2005, we investigated rumors from colleagues at National Geographic about possible habituated Jaguars in what is now the JRC part of the central Pantanal.  Thankfully the rumors turned out to be 100% correct, and since 2005, we have shown this beautiful cat to many hundreds of pampered guests.   Our approach involves mixing the best of science, logistics, and comfort to provide a uniquely-thrilling Jaguar Experience.  In fact, we are now entering our seventh year of guaranteeing Jaguar sightings and continue to be the first and only operators in the world to offer a spectacular Jaguar Guarantee.
